Lulzim Tafa is a renowned poet, academic, professor and rector. Born in Lipjan, Kosovo, he completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown before obtaining a degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Prishtina. Tafa pursued a doctoral degree at the Law Faculty of the University of Sarajevo, earning the title of Doctor of Legal Sciences. He is one of the most famous and translated poets in Albanian literature worldwide. His poems have been translated into 30 languages. He has won numerous international awards for literature and holds many prestigious titles at academies and universities globally. Among other things, he is a member of the Academy of Sciences of Albania, Bosnia, the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, etc. He is the recipient of esteemed decorations, such as the Presidential Medal of Merit from the President of the Republic of Kosovo, the decoration “Officer of Letters and Arts” from the French President, “Yuri the Saint Victorious” from the Patriarch of Ukraine, etc. He lives in Pristina, is married, and has four children.
